Is your iPhone crashed suddenly? Find Reason & Solution here !!!

Is your iOS devices rebooting itself randomly?

Then you’re not the only one who is facing this problem.Apple is having a pretty hectic week when it comes to software bugs. First, there was a bug that allows people to bypass admin login in macOS, now a bug is causing all iOS devices around the world to crash or rebooting.

The reason behind this is – a bug in the notification system is crashing springboard, the part of iOS that is responsible for handles home screen of all iOS devices.

Apps with daily notifications such as medication reminder, workout apps etc seem to be triggering the crash, it starts only after your device’s clock passes 12:15 AM on Dec 2nd, 2017. That it starts with apps with the daily notification means it’s not affecting all iOS users, but it’s also complicated to narrow down the list of apps that are affected by this. There are many of them.

Solution:

if you can get some time between crashing and rebooting of your device & you can remember which app or apps are sending daily notifications, turn off notification for those apps.
You can find this by Open Settings > Notification > the affected app > toggle “Allow notification”.

(Also try the long one in which you have to go through & manually turn off notifications for each and every 3rd party app and work vice versa in turning them back on…..)

Update:

once you got full control over your device to stop rebooting, update iOS. Apple just released iOS 11.2 to all and it appears to resolve this issue, but the main part you still need to make your device stable enough to update, first. After update your iOS device you can turn all those notifications back on.

Some recommendation come across over internet to set your device’s clock back to a time before 2nd Dec as I wouldn’t recommend you to do this because in lots of things on these day devices depend on system clock for security purpose as clock is the part of encryption/certification algorithm, so if you do this some of the apps like iMessage doesn’t work well. Although it's not brick your device, but lots of games and apps will act witty. In case you have to do it, set it back to automatic when you are done.

If your iOS device is not rebooting or crashing after 2nd Dec at 12:15 am the Local time it means you likely don’t have to do anything. You probably not using any apps with scheduled notifications or you already turned them off.
